B25 Book

Design by OOF + Braga 25   2026

The B25 book gathers the memories of the year in which the city of Braga was Portuguese Capital of Culture. Its pages hold 554 photographs of some of the more than 1,300 activities that made up the programme, along with 25 testimonies from people who helped to build Braga 25: artists, cultural agents, associations and citizens of Braga from a range of fields.

In the editorial design of this publication, we sought to express the human side of Braga 25’s identity in a tactile way, using a variety of techniques and materials. The paper of the inner pages is textured, and its low weight makes it translucent, allowing the photographs of the events to overlap and offer new ways of reading these images. In the interviews, the use of black paper and a white base for printing the photographs of the people creates a luminous, ethereal highlight in the images.

The modest format, the soft cover in soft-touch fabric and the exposed spine, with its black stitching threads, aim to emphasise the different textures and the materiality of the object, creating a tactile relationship with the reader that is profoundly human. The hand-applied hot foil stamping of the title on the cover makes each of the 2,000 printed copies a completely unique book, reflecting the individuality of each person who took part in Braga 25.
