The City Council of Braganza, in collaboration with the research center Cepese—Center for the Study of Population, Economics and Society, published a book on the history of the municipality from its prehistoric beginnings until the Liberal Revolution of 1820. This book covers historical facts about the territory's society, history, economy, politics, demography and religious, cultural and urban activities.
The graphic design is based on the same logic as a scroll on a web page. Our focus was to clearly identify the different levels of information and balance the density of the text, with generous openings of titles and large format images. Navigating in the book is intuitive and helped through the side index and the hierarchy defined by the styles of titles and subtitles.
The book, which fulfills all the hierarchical criteria of a scientific and academic publication, is also an object with an important symbolic value for all the inhabitants of Bragança. In addition to the texts, the book is an album with almost 500 images, photographs and historical documents, which reveals the territory and its heritage.
