In 2021, Guimarães City Council and Laboratório da Paisagem initiated the plan for the collection and recovery of organic waste, in compliance with the goals set by the European Union until 2030. Design by OOF was responsible for the creative direction and communication strategy, as well as for creating the name, visual identity, contents, and several campaigns and supports for this project.
RRRCICLO (RRRECYCLE – Circular Economy in Guimarães) proposes, through an accessible, clear, and organized language, to inform the municipality’s inhabitants of all the stages of this process, using communication solutions developed during several pilot projects. The messages, visual elements, and supports are designed (and redesigned) according to the issues identified during the process, through a continuous evaluation of the results.
The visual identity intends to reinforce the environmental character of the project, by using pastel colors, a singular typographic family, and an illustration language based on the manual trace. The versatility of the image we proposed is evident in supports as different as digital animation, posters, billboards and leaflets, containers and waste trucks, educational materials, etc. The website project, also developed by Design by OOF, can be seen here.
